Seagulls can be a persistent problem, especially in coastal towns. They nest on roofs and chimneys, foul cars, windows and pavements, and can turn aggressive while protecting their young. Left alone, the same birds return to the same roof year after year.
JR Bird Management offers seagull spike installation for homes and commercial buildings across Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey and South London. Our spikes stop gulls landing and nesting on the places they use most, so they move elsewhere without being harmed.

Gulls are much larger and heavier than pigeons, so standard pigeon spikes are often too short to stop them. Seagull spikes are taller and sturdier, and we fix them to suit the surface they protect.
Where gulls are nesting on a large flat roof, spikes alone may not be the answer. In those cases we may recommend bird netting or a wire system instead, and we will explain why before any work starts.

We work safely at height with the right access equipment for each job, and fix the spikes neatly so they are discreet from the street.
All wild birds, their eggs and nests in use are protected by law, so seagull proofing works best before the nesting season begins in spring. Spikes fitted over the winter mean gulls arriving to nest find nowhere to settle.
If gulls are already nesting on your roof, we can advise on what can be done now and plan the proofing for when the nest is no longer in use.
Our coastal areas see the most gull activity, including Brighton, Eastbourne, Hastings, Folkestone and Dover. Gulls are increasingly common inland too, and we also fit seagull spikes in towns such as Maidstone, Canterbury and Guildford.
